Why have sex therapy?
There are many people that have sex therapy, and people usually have it because they have a problem with sex in their life. Some people are able to fix their own problems related for sex, however some find it difficult as it causes a lot of stress and unhappiness.
Sex therapists can help with a load of different sexual problems, including:
- lack of desire
- orgasm problems
- pain during sex
- erectile dysfunction
- ejaculation problems
What happens during sex therapy?
Sex therapists will start off by listening to your problems, and assess any issues you may have. They will then look into the causes of these issues, and see if there are psychological or physical.
Sex therapy, like any type of therapy, is confidential. You can see a sex therapist alone, or if you the issue affects both you and your partner then you will need to attend together.
Talking about your problems and exploring your experiences will help you get a better understanding of what is happening and the can even allow you to self evaluate the reason behind the issue.
Sex therapy sessions usually last between 30 to 50 mins and the therapist my advise for you to take weekly sessions, or the see them less frequently if they think the sessions have been going well.
