It is possible for men to catch thrush from a female partner, although it is very uncommon.
Signs & symptoms
In men, there are a variety of symptoms that may occur, these include:
- difficulty in pulling back the foreskin
- pain when passing urine
- lumpy discharge under the foreskin
- redness at the head the penis
The symptoms of thrush are similar in women, but the vagina is usually affected.
If you have thrush it is best to avoid having sex until you have completed a course of treatment and the infection has completely cleared.
